Lint Trap Glitter

I guess
we’re all stuck
in a giant washing machine,
spinning around and around,
just trying to get clean.
Trying to keep our heads above water,
trying not to drown.
Trying to rid ourselves
of excess lint and dust
and things that will otherwise leave stains.
But some people
are made of glitter.
They leave behind remnants
of themselves
on everyone they touch.
Tiny shimmers of hope,
little reflective reminders
to always
keep leaning
toward the light.
